Ischia is the largest island of the Gulf of Naples and, differently from Capri, has volcanic origins. It is famous for its spas and baths, so much so it deserved the name of the “island of health” or “island of eternal youth”. The Romans already knew about the healing properties of the Cava Scura water and appreciated the island’s energising "sweat baths".
Ischia offers a very picturesque and green landscape. In spite of the spoilage made by illegal building on natural local beauties, Ischia still preserves everywhere something to discover and appreciate: sunk craters, rocky spikes and lava hills in an amazing ever-changing setting, transformed by the volcanic activity, where the green of the land dives into the sea and sees itself reflected in the blue of the deepest sea.
